Far from it. This soup has a looong ingredients list. Tons of chopping. Ingredients added at multiple stages. But! It is completely worth it if you have the time and it passed the (increasingly picky--argh!) toddler taste test. The recipe also makes a huge amount of soup, and I bet it freezes well.
This was a take home recipe card from the land of all things wonderful in Missoula, The Good Food Store. And according to them, originally Gourmet Magazine in 1996! This place has (supposedly) the largest bulk section in the nation and you can find any dry good imaginable. Plus some wet ones like oil, vinegar, honey, molasses, peanut butter. Eat your heart out, Whole Foods.
