First Road Trip

Last week we took two days to drive to Lander, Wyoming to visit the MM's family.  I was both chomping at the bit to just get out of town, having not left the Missoula area since May and also pretty nervous about how Ford would handle the many hours in the car.  In fact, he did really well for such a little fella.

We just took our time and made lots of stops along the way, with an overnight in Yellowstone on one leg and in Absarokee, Montana on the other (pronounced Absorkee, just like the Absaroka Mountains are pronounced Absorka, in case you visit these parts and want to sound like a local).

Whilst in Lander, we got out on some walks (my first real hikes post C-section) and Ford got loved up by all his Western relatives.

Absarokee is a tiny little town between Red Lodge and I-90 in the very pretty Stillwater River Valley. It also has some not-so-wild turkeys that gobbled outside our door on Monday morning:

And it's still smoky in Missoula.  I am ready for another trip!
