Project Laundry Room/Office Upgrade

The Mountain Man and I decided to up the ante on the amount of home renovations we could accomplish prior to moving in this coming weekend.  We figured that laying new flooring in the laundry room was best done before we moved in, so this past weekend we moved a bunch of leftover particle board furniture (from the previous owner) out to the garage, dragged the washer and dryer into the kitchen, and tore out some very, very heinous carpet:

The sunny day belies how very dingy this room was. As of last night, we took out all those awful closet dividers and the doors and primed the walls. They are ready for a coat of something slightly off-white to complement the red marmoleum floors:

The MM is inspired by this kitchen.  Maybe we'll paint some shelves and the (now open) cabinets above the washer and dryer a shiny black.

Some halogen bulb task lighting will also significantly improve things
Have we even begun to pack? Cleaned up the new place? Nope. And I still need to prime and paint the living room trim, bedroom floors are getting redone tomorrow, and it looks like the baseboard trim in the living room is going to have to wait until after we move in.  I'm not usually one for getting things finished at the 11th hour, but there's just no getting around it this time.
