R.I.P. Gourmet

The economic downturn strikes Conde Nast again, and this time they're shuttering yet another magazine to which I actually subscribe.  This time it's Gourmet, the venerable food mag that's been in publication since 1940.  Apparently everyone is in shock that they've axed Gourmet instead of Bon Appetit, even the editor of BA himself.  I cannot even imagine how Editor in Chief Ruth Riechl feels today.

I am sad, sad, sad.  I suppose they'll convert my subscription to Bon Appetit and I will go on living.  Maybe Garden and Gun will stay afloat long enough to provide me with some entertainment value since I just subscribed to that too.
