Wedding Shoe Dilemma--NEED HELP!

If you're male and just don't care about wedding planing, skip this post and go watch the Vlad and Boris video again.

Gentle Female Readers (or any men who just love shoes!), I am torn between my two sides. There is the slightly subversive side of me that wants to buck tradition just a little and also loves bold, bright colors. This Annabelle wants to wear shoes like these:

And then there's the paralysis of analysis Virgo side of me that fears I might look back and my wedding photos and gnash my teeth while wailing, "What was I thinking?!? And why didn't I listen to my mother?" And that person thinks these might be a safer bet, although that would mean acknowledging that Mama knows best and dang, I still hate admitting that.

I'm counting on you all to be opinionated and to the point, because, you know, that's probably how I'd respond if you were making a major life decision like this.

Ugh- I wrote that really early this morning and realize it doesn't exactly make sense. You know what I mean.

I love a punch of color against a white dress :)

You know that I LOVE orange. However, our friend Carey had the same dilemma. She wanted to wear emerald green satin pumps, which were absolutely gorgeous and so unique. In the end, she went with gold strappy heels, and I'm so glad that she did. Her dress was so simple in it's draping fabric, so fresh-looking and goddess-like. The punch of green would have totally taken away from the stunning simplicity of the gown. I would seriously suggest going for the strappy metallic. Your wedding day is not about your feet screaming "look down here!"
Just my opinion.

No need for me to weigh in here! Would LOVE to know what response you get. I am flattered to be so honored in your write-up! xoxoxo

I think this orange bow tie (http://www.kjbeckett.com/acatalog/orange_chilli_robertcharles.html) for the groomsmen would compliment your shoes!

But I'd like to wait until I've seen how the shoes go with your dress to make a final suggestion; when do I get to see the dress anyway?

Mama is right, just let it flow over you and learn to love it! But if you decide to go orange let me know so I can give Susie oxygen. W.

i'd totally go with orange! Or any bright color ... i think as long as it goes with something else (flowers, bridesmaids, or whatever) it won't look out of place. I wore a 2nd pair of shoes for dancing and to walk between the ceremony and reception site, so maybe you could do a more neutral heel for the ceremony and a brighter flatter shoe for the dancing?

I think modest and neutral for the ceremony and bright orange for kicking up my heels at the reception sounds like the ticket. So now I'm off to search for ballet flats-here we go again!
