March Came In Like A Lion

March 4th

We had quite the torrential rain and wind storm last night! The storm rolled in to western Albemarle right around dusk, but it was an overcast day leading up to it so I wasn't too inspired on the morning walk. It was quiet in the way only a gray early March Tuesday can be.

By this morning the clouds had moved out and the birds were chirping. The cows looked a little stunned from their wet, windy night, but I managed to capture this little guy looking right back at me:

March 5th

An Eastern Bluebird all puffed up against the stiff breeze. They're here in Virginia year round, but they don't seem to begin signing in the morning until it warms up, and I heard this one singing away!
