As I said earlier this week, our first house guest in the new house arrives this evening. He and the MM will spend the whole weekend rock climbing and will need to be fed! I'll probably tag along tomorrow. It's finally going to be warm in Montana again!
Having guests is the perfect opportunity to put out a Williams Sonoma-worthy spread, so here's the plan for tonight:
Chicken Tetrazzini, my go-to comfort food. Green salad, and strawberry rhubarb pie, because it's rhubarb season this cool climate. Rhubarb isn't really something you grow up eating when your mother is from Georgia, where it's too hot to grow the stuff. We have grown to love it, though. Here's a link to the recipe for Strawberry Rhubarb Pie with Crumb Topping.
Tomorrow morning: Cinnamon Baked French Toast from The Pioneer Woman! Along with more fresh strawberries and local bacon.
Did I tear up a fresh sourdough baguette from Le Petit Outre for this? Is it marinating in a mixture of eggs, milk, vanilla and sugar in my fridge right now? Darn right it is.
Bon Weekend!
