Craftiness and Yarn Lust

There isn't a big fluffy scarf, throw rug or blanket on The Purl Bee that I haven't swooned over and contemplated the pleasure of knitting on a cold winter's night.  Then I do the math on the cost of any of the gorgeous projects featured on this blog and have to breathe into a paper bag. $200+ worth of yarn for a rug, $100+ for a baby blanket, $78 for a scarf.  These are not prices that I would pay for an equivalent store-bought item! Unfulfilled yarn lust. Grrrr.

But they certainly are beautiful, no?

You can bet I'll be searching for more affordable alternatives to the Super Soft Merino for this beautiful scarf above.
