I have been having one of those weeks following a vacation when the warm afterglow fades in approximately two seconds once you show up at the office, realize you have 100+ emails and voicemails to answer and BIG DEADLINES. Ugh. At least it's over again until Monday (tomorrow is my day at home with Ford). Our trip to North Carolina was completely wonderful, though! Let's relive some highlights:
Getting reacquainted with Cousin Jack
Fun with Dada Catherine
Blessing and breaking in the new picnic house, Folly Too
Meeting Grandpapa and Uncle Craig (again) for the first time
Dabbling our toes in the Chattooga River for the first time
Doing a test run on that birthday cake thing
We ate barbeque and peach slushies, enjoyed afternoon thunderstorms, early bedtimes (for Ford) and reading books on the porch (for me). By the end of the week, we were all thinking of the words to the old John Prine song and wishing we could...
"Blow up your t.v. , throw away your paper
Go to the country, build you a home
Plant a little garden, eat a lot of peaches
Try an find Jesus on your own"
