Charlottesville on the Local Food Radar Again

Today the Washington Post is running an article on an interesting partnership between Chipotle, maker of "gourmet" burritos and Joel Salatin of Polyface Farm just over the mountain in Swoope, Virginia. The article highlights how much effort it takes for a national chain with a complex purchasing and food-prep system to buy locally. Props to Chipotle and Joel, as well as the efforts on Grounds at UVA, where Aramark staff work with students and faculty to source local, seasonal and organic food as much as possible. Way to go, Charlottesville.
