Well She Hit the Nail on the Head

From today's New York Times article "He's Happier, She's Less So" about women spending more time doing things they don't enjoy doing:

"Ms. Stevenson was recently having drinks with a business school graduate who came up with a nice way of summarizing the problem. Her mother’s goals in life, the student said, were to have a beautiful garden, a well-kept house and well-adjusted children who did well in school. “I sort of want all those things, too,” the student said, as Ms. Stevenson recalled, “but I also want to have a great career and have an impact on the broader world.” "

Apparently the houses of working women are dustier today than they were 20 or 30 years ago, and this makes women comparatively more unhappy than men because women are more likely to be bothered by a dusty, dirty house. This partially explains why I'm going home tonight to clean up my house instead of going out, and cannot wait to reach that point in my "great career" when I can afford a cleaning lady (or man as the case may be).

Shit, I am bothered when it's dusty...
Maybe we should all live in tents.
